The Mérieux Institute commits its experience in industrial biology to serve medicine and public health worldwide. To fight against infectious diseases and cancers, it imagines and develops complementary approaches in the field of diagnostics, immunotherapy, food safety and nutrition. Naturen is a partner of the 17th World Rose Convention - Lyon Roses 2015 - that will take place from 26 to 31 May. After Japan, Canada and Africa, the choice of the city of Lyon, the first center for creation of roses in Europe and the second production center of roses in France, was most relevant to host this 17th Convention. In total, more than 600 delegates 200,000 to 300,000 visitors and 3 large rose lovers associations (Société Française des Roses – Roses Anciennes en France – Société Lyonnaise d’Horticulture) participate to this international event. The partnership with Naturen will focus on three events: The dedication of Naturen rose, a major event that will delight all lovers of roses. Created for the occasion, the Naturen rose is a shrub rose with large pink-violet flowers. It has good resistance to disease and benefits of ADR norm. On 30 and 31 May, people from Naturen will provide advices on how to choose a rose, how to prune roses, ADR standard… Advertising and promotional campaign will comprise three components: a mini-guide about rose care, an online competition on the www.lapausejardin.fr (prizes: a charming weekend in Lyon and many Naturen roses) and newspaper ads that will relay the partnership. www.lapausejardin.fr

The association des pépiniéristes et rosiéristes du bassin douessin (rose growers and nurseries from the basin of Doué-la-Fontaine), was created in 2006. It brings together some thirty professional rose growers and nursery from the region of Doué-la-Fontaine and its surroundings. This region is the first rose production basin in France, with over 50% of the national production. Sixty producers are present on the territory. Among the actions carried out since the creation of the association: support for the creation of water reservoirs, development of training for employees, creation and organization of the Pepifolies (plant market held each year late November). The association also conducts more global work on rose nurseries, by focusing on the technical and economic aspects of the production, on research and innovation, or by participating in actions to promote the products and the territory. Thus, the association is engaged since 2012 in a global project to modernize the sector through the Plateforme Régionale d’Innovation Rosiers et Pépinières (Regional Innovation Platform for Roses and Nurseries). This project is conducted in partnership with the Chamber of Agriculture of the Maine-et-Loire, the Arexhor Pays de la Loire, the IRHS (Horticulture and Seed Research Institute) and with the financial support of the Conseil Régional des Pays de la Loire.

Beaujolais, the diversity of a vineyard

The countless hills of the Beaujolais are located 55km long from south to north, leaning west on the foothills of the Massif Central and East on the plain of the Saône. It is located less than 30 minutes away from Lyon.
